Abstract
The paper is devoted to the graphics and spelling of a part of Anastas Granitski’s translation of “Commercial Guide” (1858), entitled “On Commercial Writing”. It is a comprehensive manual for keeping business correspondence, which explains how to write 11 types of letters. The literature on trade,
accounting and business has had numerous readers who have followed and disseminated the spelling rules in them. Thus, the question of the norms in epistolary literature is important for the formation of a public attitude towards the establishment and gradual unification of the Bulgarian orthography in the
second half of the 19th century.

Key words: Bulgarian Revival, commercial correspondence, letter, spelling rules
