Abstract
The subject of the article is the process of early intellectualization of the Bulgarian literary language through the borrowing of terms from foreign languages. The research is limited to the terminological vocabulary in didactic literature, and more specifically in trade guides and correspondence books, during the Revival which contributed to the establishment of terms related to trade, banking, finance and the legal sphere. The main part of the study is terminological construction and the ways of entry of foreign terms into the literary language directly or through an intermediary language.
