Abstract
This article discusses the confrontation operated by Pascal Quignard in his Little Treatises between some aspects of the Roman way of reading and the ins and outs of modern reading, which is above all a form of instruction or an object of desire. I intend to reveal this particular treatment of reading on three points, namely the reading body, the silent reading and reading as a solitary activity.
