Abstract
This paper is meant to analyze the travel experience in Nicolas Bouvier’s book Chronique japonaise. We focus on the meeting of Japanese and Occidental cultures, philosophy and dramaturgy during the writer ‘s first trip to Japan. Our research is based on the works of Tzvetan Todorov, Vittorio Volpi, Armen Godel, Hamana Masami, Junishirô Tanizaki.
