Abstract

The Castle of Carpathians is a romantic novel pervaded by the semantics of the nocturnal light in darkness. Based on general topics, legends, superstitions and enchantments, it becomes a beautiful story of vampires. In the present article, the supernatural proves to be the inspiration of future events, while Verne develops solutions based on science. The French novelist toys with the idea that science can bring to life our beloved ones.
