Abstract
The main goal of this article is to present some features of grammaticalization, lexicalization and pragmaticalization as processes that determine the language dynamics. In order to illustrate the process of pragmaticalization, changes in use and function of full-fledged lexical elements, grammatical forms of such elements or syntactic constructions in Bulgarian will be discussed. Since the functional-semantic variants are related to a number of communicative and pragmatic factors, discourse features will be also presented (degree of formality and readiness of communication, topic/theme communication, social distance between speakers, etc.).
Key words: grammaticalization, lexicalization, pragmaticalization, pragmatic markers
