Abstract

The article reviews the state of the university subject History of The New Bulgarian Literary Language.The outline includes the following parts: 1. A short historical overview of the fundamental works on History of The New Bulgarian Literary Language and the contributions in that direction; 2. Analysis of current theoretical issues in the scientific research that have to be solved; 3. Focusing on the pragmatic aspects in the research and didactic process; 4. An outline of specific tasks concerning the further development of the scientific field.
