Abstract
In the study, an attempt is made for a linguistic and stylistic analysis of the story Temptation by Elin Pelin. Activity at all language levels was examined. Cases of metaphony are described, the duality of vocabulary, morphological transpositions, various stylistic concepts at the syntactic level (types of sentences, repetitions, syntactic parallelism), tropes (metaphor, metonymy, irony) and stylistic figures are analyzed. The purpose of the research is to reveal how the idea of antagonism between the human and the canonical is suggested through the very language of the work.
Key words: linguistic and stylistic analysis, metaphony, grammatical transpositions, tropes and stylistic figures
