Abstract
As tools of cognition, terms need scientifically based and adequate coverage in dictionaries of various types. Today, terms, term elements and language units related to the so-called terminological vocabulary are found not only in termino-logical dictionaries themselves, but also in many other types of dictionaries (explanatory, non-logical, phraseological, orthographic, synonymous, antonymic, etc.). Reflecting terminological variability in dictionaries confronts lexicogra-phers with a number of difficulties. These difficulties are determined, on the one hand, by the complex nature of this phenomenon, and on the other, by the pos-sibility of using various lexicographic solutions in the dictionary representation of options.
