Abstract
The names of men’s outer clothing distinguish a significant thematic group and, together with the names for women’s outer clothing, represent the unity of the Bulgarian national attire. Connected by a community in meaning, dialect names create lexical orders in which the sememe ratio – two or more
lexemes prevails. The names of men’s outer clothing are found in paradigmatic relationships in macrodialect surroundings and reflect structural (lexical, phonetic, grammatical and word-forming) and semantic features not inherent in the literary language.
