Abstract
Technological progress imposes the necessity of continuous optimization of foreign language acquisition methods. The acquisition of new and relatively complex articulatory habits requires an adequate method that provides precise feedback on the learner’s pronunciation. This paper presents a comparative
analysis of the classical two-formant model for acoustic description of vowels and a new interactive software-provided method that affords the opportunity to render an account of frequency integration in their acoustic image. The experimental results are evaluated with respect to two fundamental criteria:
reliability and relevance.
