Abstract
This research looks at the literary work of Yuri Mamleev and his place in Russian (Soviet) underground literature from the second half of the 20th century. The purpose of this paper is to compare Mamleev’s poetics with other representative authors of the Russian literary underground like Vladimir Sorokin, Igor Kholin etc., and to prove that Mamleev’s so called metaphysical realism has a specific role in the underground spheres of the Russian literature.This research draws up on mostly primary literary sources including prose, poetry and philosophical treatisis.
