Abstract
The aim of this article is to analyze the relation between the categories: mood, verbal tense and taxis. The perspective of this investigation is based on the characteristics of these categories. What I have attempted to do is to make visible that what we currently teach and study as Spanish and Bulgarian verbal tenses is not a pure category, but a combination between these three essential categories. The application of this new approach can be quite beneficial in the classes of Spanish as a foreign language.
Key words: morphology, verbal category taxis, verbal tenses, mood, teaching Spanish as a foreign language (SFL)
