Abstract

The book Theatrum politicum, by the Italian clergyman Ambrogio Marliani, printed for the first time in 1621, was later translated in several languages, including Greek. The Greek translation modifies the original in some passages. The Greek version was later translated into Balkan languages such as Romanian and Bulgarian. My paper aims at focusing on two translations from Greek into Bulgarian, both by Sophronius of Vraca, known in Bulgarian as Graždanskoe Pozorište i Filosofskija Mudrosti.
