Abstract
The subject matter of the article is the complex and multifaceted incorporation of historical elements in a high school literature curriculum. The text outlines history’s main aspects in terms of developing competences. The text highlights prominent challenges educators experience in their practice, stemming from both insufficient knowledge of history and the history of literature and the necessity to address entrenched prejudice. The text also critiques key deficiencies and provides feasible educational approaches and methodical engagement strategies.
