Abstract
The paper treats determiners in contemporary Bulgarian language. They are markers of definiteness and indefiniteness. Depending on there semantics and language specifics, determiners are classified as: grammatical (articles – definite and indefinite 01 , 02 ), lexical (demonstrative and indefinite pronouns),
semantic (proper names). The competition between these determiners is not examined closely.
