Abstract

The paper presents some observations on the usage of pronouns in Bulgarian colloquial speech. The excerpted material is part of the archives of the Department of Bulgarian Language at Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv and is also part of a private archive of recordings.
The main aim is to outline the stylistic features of pronouns, which requires a systematic and detailed research of their conversions in a given text. An attempt is made to survey the tendencies towards syncretism (economy, linguistic condensation) and redundancy (the repetition of pronouns).

Key words: pronoun, colloquial speech, usage, speech act
