Abstract

The present article aims at classifying certain phraseological units in Bulgarian and German languages in which the basic lexical component is a definite onym with biblical, mythological, literary or colloquial character and also to point out their features considering all other phraseological units in the Word stock. The article is closely connected with views concerning the interconnection between language and thought. Different physical and mental events which are typical for the languages of both nations have been viewed, with the idea of emphasizing the world view and mentality of the given socium.
