Abstract
The major objective of this article is to identify the principles of language mixing, as displayed in the prefaces of the two editions of Месецослов или календар вечни (1840, 1842) written by H. Sichan Nikolov. In this context, the significance of the contact linguistic approach for examining the texts written in the Slavonic Bulgarian period is outlined.
