Abstract
This article is a comparative analysis of the fixed nominal phrases based on structural model ‘colour adjective + noun’ in Bulgarian and Modern Greek languages. There is significant evidence about constructions that represent the whole spectrum of degrees of fixedness, in both languages. The main focus of the analysis is on the semantic and syntactic functions of colour adjectives in fixed phrases.
Key words: colour terms, adjectives, free phrases, fixed phrases, fixedness, degrees of fixedness
