Abstract
The article aims at giving some details on how the composite words coexist with the practice of the so called „prost iazyk“ in Yoakim Krchovski’s fourth printed book „Miracles of the Theotokos“ (1817) – a translation based on the third part of „Salvation of sinners“ by Agapius Landos of Crete. The composites in the narratives cover sustainable models and semantically well established areas of the Christian cultural vocabulary. They are recognizable strata outlining the process of „adopting tradition“, a pad for the linguistic development at the beginning of the 19th-century.
