Abstract
This paper will discuss the problem of the expansion of the standard lexicon of German and Bulgarian by sports terminology.
The paper analyses the factors of the access of sports vocabulary to the lexicon and examines its origin. It presents the results of the research on the morphological, phonological and grapheme construction of the lexems, the semantic relationships and the specifics of their integration in the Bulgarian and German language.
