Abstract

English surnames of Celtic origin are the second most popular type of surnames in the English surname system. Most of them are motivated by personal names – male or female. Surnames motivated by physical features, occupation and office are less widely presented and many trade names are descriptive or may vary depending on the goods manufactured or the material used.
