Abstract
The article offers a preliminary model for the comparative study of the type (model, abstract) word formation paradigms of adjectives, which takes into account the lexical class of word formation base and its derivative as well as the word formation category of the derivative. The proposed model is illustrated by derivative paradigms of lexical classes relevant to adjectives in Polish and Bulgarian.
