Abstract
In this article we reflect on the CLIL method, specifically when designing materials to use in the classroom. From the 4 Cs to the scaffolding, language, cognitive skills, learning skills, several aspects need to be considered to create adequate and useful CLIL materials. Exercises should provide students with all they need to achieve the goals of this methodology. This process is not easy and presents many challenges to teachers and students. This demanding task confronts many difficulties that could be saved by a sincere collaboration between language teachers and specific subjects teachers.
