Abstract
Some phraseological units, which are the object of foreign language teach-ing, are described in this article. There are examined some task types that can be used in lexical texts as well as some rules for their construction. Furthermore, the article includes some illustrative examples of test item construction for checking the acquisition of idioms with the components „foot/pied“ and „leg/jambes“ in English and French by students at the University of Plovdiv.
