Abstract
This article investigates the conceptual dissimilarities of animalism and animalist prose fiction in Bulgarian, Russian and Anglophone literary theory.
The impossibility to reduce these concepts to homogeneous uniformly used contents provokes the search for their artistic grounds as a means of discovering and legitimizing their theoretical essence.
