Abstract
The aim of this article is to assess the potential of linguistic research in help of speech diagnosis and therapy. The exploration of the world experience in clinical linguistics and phonetics is followed by the Bulgarian one. A special at-tention is given to the linguistic and phonetic research as a part of evidence based practice in fluency and voice disorders – a research area which has not been thoroughly explored in Bulgaria. The expectation is that this research collection would stimulate new studies of the kind in Bulgaria which could enhance our understanding of human communication and its disorders.
