Abstract
The present text reveals one aspect of the international context of Bulgarian cultural development during the National Revival – the role of the cultural dialogue between Bulgarians and the rest of the Slavic world. It analyzes Bulgarian linguistic thoughts from the 19th century represented in the prefaces from a period of 50 years (from the 2nd to the 7th decade) in an attempt to prove the importance of the Slavic prism as a cultural mediator in the process of accepting and adopting new contemporary ideas.
