Abstract
A man with an encyclopedic turn of mind, Dobri Voynikov was involved in various processes of the Bulgarian Revival. One of them was the establishment of the epistolary style in the new Bulgarian literary language. This was done mainly through his two letter books published in 1860 and 1874. The development of his views on features of letter writing such as its definition, the types of letters, the ceremonial of letters, titles, terminology, polite form, etc. is presented.
