Abstract
The paper dwells on active processes of innovation affecting Bulgarian verbs, namely the transformation of intransitive verbs into transitive ones. The transitivisation of such verbs often goes together with causation. Several examples excerpted from Internet sources, colloquial speech, and fiction have
been provided to illustrate the stated trend.
We focus on the grammatical and stylistic properties of formerly intransitive verbs (reflexive and non-reflexive), which are frequently used as transitive and causative in speech. Special emphasis is laid on reflexive verbs.

Key words: transitivity, dereflectivity, causality, language trends
