Abstract
The colloquial words in journalistic texts from 12 newspapers during the period 2007 – 2009 are analyzed in the article. The lexemes are defined from the point of view of their origin and the final conclusion is that those from Turkish language prevail. Attention is paid to the slang, dialectal and vernacular words. Space is devoted to the colloquial lexemes, applied metaphorically, as well as to those likened to occasionalisms.
