Abstract
The author is interested in Polish and Bulgarian newspapers and maga-zines which were published over the centuries. Reviewing all these titles from a diachronic perspective she reveals different kinds of the media naming practice. She also analyses what factors (historical, cultural and social) affected the onimia layer in the past and affect it now. Thereby she tries to present basic linguistic examples which are obligatory in the press media.
