Abstract
The text aims at presenting the Agreement signed in 1954 by Serbian and Croatian linguists and intellectuals which is known as the Novi Sad Agreement by the name of the city where it took place. The text examines the reasons for signing the Agreement, its main decisions and the reaction it has caused.
