Abstract
Metaphors serve as a key rhetorical device that engages readers while clarifying intricate economic ideas. Economic writing, particularly in Introductions, is often marked by a high frequency of metaphorical language, as authors seek to situate their research within the broader academic conversation. This paper aims to enhance understanding of conceptual metaphor typology in economics by analyzing a selection of articles from high-impact journals. The study employs a methodology that categorizes metaphors into ontological, structural, and orientational types. The findings align with existing research in conceptual metaphor analysis within scientific discourse.
Key words: metaphor, rhetorical device, economic articles, discourse
