Abstract

This paper analyzes the fundamental concept of Chinese linguоculture guanxi (关系 guānxì) compared to the Russian concept svyazi (связи). The leading verbal representation of the concept guanxi, often translated in Russian Chinese dictionaries as svyazi (связи), sets the mental and behavioral framework of Chinese native speakers. The existing similarity, but at the same time incomplete matching of the elements of the concept structure, create prerequisites for some difficulties in intercultural communication and translation. In this paper, we will propose functional equivalents of Chinese guanxi in Russian.
