Abstract
The aim of this study is to point out the possibility of applying poetry in teaching Serbian as a foreign language at the Department of Slavic Studies at the University of Plovdiv. The use of poetry in teaching Serbian language has proved to be an interesting and useful teaching tool that improves the educational process and increases the motivation of the students.
