Abstract

This paper studies the terminology in the field of Public health in three language version of the EU acquis: Bulgarian, Polish and English. Only the terms with a legal definition in an EU legal act are being analysed. The comprehensive study of the terms includes the parameters: source, outer and inner form of a term. Here only the outer form of the terms is compared. The analysis consists of three structural layers: 1. the structural type of the term – the number of components and their syntax relations; 2. the grammatical structure of the term – an analysis of the terms or the components of the terms as parts of speech; 3. word-building – derivative analysis of the components of the terms.

Key words: EU legal terminology, public health, outer form of a term, Bulgarian, Polish, English
