Abstract

The subject of this research is reverse translation, which is most often referred to as „reverse transfer“ in Bulgarian methodological literature: from the target language back to the source or the intermediary language with a modifying effect in the mental sphere of the intermediary language. The research aims at analyzing reverse translation from German (language 3) into Bulgarian (language 1) when writing a commentary. The survey conducted among learners indicates that they could write a commentary in Bulgarian – a text genre that is not taught in Bulgarian schools.
