Abstract
This article explores the names (local and foreign), the nicknames, the hypochoristic personal namess and the affectionately names (with a familiar connotation) as a devices of linguistic stylistics in Branislav Nušić’s comedies (“PhD”, “A Suspicious person”, “A Member of the Parliament”, “The Cabinet Minister’s Wife”, “Mister Dollar” and others from the end of 19th – to the first decades of 20th century) to achieve a cascade of bright verbal- comic, ironic and satirical effects, which are also able to recreate also individual, typical or national traits and situations.
