Abstract

The subject of this article is the concept wisdom, which is discussed in the lexical system of both German and Bulgarian languages from the point of view of its etymology, as well as its conceptual, metaphorical and etymological aspect. The lexical content of the concept is presented by the theory of Lakoff and Johnson about the conceptual metaphor. The article draws basic conclusions about metaphors and associations with which the concept in both German and Bulgarian is contexts. A brief comparison between the concepts reason and wisdom is made.
