Abstract
The paper examines the Czech inter-war travelogue Česká pouť do Itálie (Czech Journey to Italy) by Rudolf Мedek. It focuses on the changes in the representation of Italy, on the transformation of a fixed spatial network and the extension of stereotypical reasons for traveling to Italy. It shows how they are initiated by the history of Czech/Czechoslovak legions in Italy.
