Abstract
The capabilities of polysemy, synonymy, antonymy, homonymy, paron-ymy with their prominant stylistic role, as carriers of lexical categorial expres-siveness, are widely and fully used in the comediographic opus of Branislav Nušić. Some of the relevant features of these lexical categories are highlighted in this paper, as well as their direct connection and integral unity with other means of linguistic stylistics, to achieve a comic effect in specific moments in certain comedies.
